George Mason University, 程跃（Yue Cheng）教授，计划招收2018年春季和秋季入学全奖博士生，本科和硕士以及访问学生都欢迎申请，背景不限（操作系统背景扎实，系统软件开发及开源软件经验（C/C++ Java Go）丰富是加分项）。主要研究课题方向是distributed systems以及distributed systems在不同场景（如物联网和机器学习）的应用。如感兴趣请把简历(包括毕业学校、科研经历，相关成绩等信息)发往yuecheng@gmu.edu

程跃教授毕业于弗吉尼亚理工，研究方向是存储和分布式系统，云计算，物联网的系统软件支持，高性能计算，以及大规模机器学习的系统支持。一直与业界保持紧密合作，诸如IBM Research，Dell EMC等等。

关于CS@Mason:
计算机系是Mason最大也是最强的一个系之一，同时是弗吉尼亚地区规模最大的计算机系，最新的csrankings.org排名全美57。Mason是一所新兴的R1研究型公立大学，近年来发展势头强劲。地处北弗吉尼亚州，距离首都华盛顿仅15英里（20分钟车程），周边高科技企业林立，具有独佳的地理优势。

Research/Teaching Assistant openings (Spring'18 and Fall'18 onwards)

Department of Computer Science at George Mason University

The students will work with Yue Cheng on cutting-edge systems research spanning the following areas: distributed and storage system, data management system, cloud computing, and I/O systems in high performance computing. The applicants are expected to be self-motivated with some background in computer systems and algorithms. Hands-on programming and system hacking experience (C/C++, scripting, Go, Java) are preferred.

Yue joined the Department of Computer Science at George Mason University in Fall 2017. He graduated with a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 2017. Yue’s research covers a range of topics including distributed systems, storage and I/O systems, cloud computing, internet of things, high performance computing, and systems support for large-scale machine learning applications.
